1. SOUQ WAQIF

 

Situated at the heart of Doha, Souq Waqif has got ancient stories to tell dating back from 20th century. This is the place to look for the national Qatari dress, including the beautifully embroidered bukhnoq , spices, perfumes and oud (an exotic incense made from agarwood).

 

2. KATARA MOSQUE

 

Katara mosque is one of the most beautiful mosques in Qatar. designed by Turkish mosque designer, Zainab Fadil Oglu. What makes Katara different from other mosques is the uniqueness it possesses in culture, architecture, color and patterned tiles.

The mosque features an outer surface garnished with turquoise and purple mosaic and a wonderful interior design that adds more to its beauty. The architectural designs, together with the minaret, the dome, and the prayer niche are inspired by several famous mosques in various cities.

 

3. MUSEUM OF ISLAMIC ART

 

The museum building has rapidly become an iconic feature of the Doha landscape. Standing alone on reclaimed land, the building draws much influence from ancient Islamic architecture. With the largest collection of Islamic art, the museum is so rich in treasure that it rewards short, intense visits.

 

4. AL- ZUBARAH FORTRESS

 

Rising from its own purpose-built island, and set in an extensive landscape of lawns and ornamental trees off the Corniche, this is a fabulous museum. Lofty, compact walls, substantial and profuse in broadness, swathe this eminent fort which is one meter in length and bulk. Al-Zubarah Fortress is the rich architecture that Qatar has ever seen. According to UNESCO, Al Zubarah is one of a long line of prosperous trading towns around the coast in what is present-day Qatar.

Aspire Park is Doha’s largest and there interesting things that keep every member of the family entertained. The park is also home to Doha’s only lake. 8. STATE GRAND MOSQUE

 

The state mosque is located in the Jubailat district of Doha.T he mosque is Impressively large, and you will be rendered speechless by the architecture. The only thing you have to remember is the mosque is inaccessible to non-Muslims, but its a great place to take photos.

 

9. FALCON SOUQ

 

The glimpse of heritage lies with Falcon Souq. Falcons are loved here, people over here make them as their pets. The visitors can admire falcons, photograph and sometimes even hold them under the shopkeeper's supervision. That would be an incredible experience!

 

10. AL JASASSIYA CRAVINGS

 

Al Jassasiya is one of the most intriguing sites in Qatar. It has intricate and incomprehensible carvings in the stone that are incredibly rare. Many of the patterns and signs are not recognizable, and their meanings remain unclear. It is believed that these markings are hundreds of years old, making their preservation truly remarkable.
